The scar on my elbow is from when I was seven. I volunteered to walk my neighbor's two huge Irish setters. They were probably three times my weight. It was a crazy attempt on my part. We hadn't gotten a block away when they began running. Their leashes pulled me down, my elbow was cut open and gushing blood, and I was trying to hold back tears. The little wrinkly scar reminds me to never again walk dogs that are bigger than I am.
