This is my chicken pox scar I got when I was 9, located above my right breast. No one ever told me you shouldn't scratch your scars. I hate hate hated it and it has caused a lot of self esteem problems growing up. I used to think nobody would ever love me romantically. I am self conscious about wearing anything strapless which includes tank tops, swim suits, fancy dresses. I have two others just like it on my left shoulder and upper right back.. Today, I have come to better terms with it. I don't think of it as this thing, I think of it as a part of me. I am unique. Scars show character, and despite it all, I think having the scars have made me stronger. And yes, someone special loves me.. Although I still am wary of wearing certain things in public, I am more confident in my own skin than I used to be...
