This scar is on the upper part of my left arm. It's been with me most of my life-ever since I was seven. I got it when my grandmother accidentally spilled coffee over the top of my head while she was passing the coffee pot over me to my grandfather. Most of the coffee landed on my left arm for some reason. What I remember most from that time was the look on my aunt's face when I took my shirt off and she saw half my arm was burned off. My parents rushed me to the hospital and the emergency room took me ahead of everyone else. I think I even got to go before a guy who had been shot in the leg. My grandmother has felt guilty for years, which in turn, has made me feel guuilty. Recently, my grandmother has come down with Alzheimer's. The one good thing about her having this disease is that she doesn't remember anymore about my burn scar.
