Friday
Senior Level Designer: Hey, I need you to do something for me.
Me (Junior Level Designer): Yes?
Senior Level Coworker: On Monday, I need you to bring this scanner to the photoshoot.
Me: That's it? Just bring it, and then leave?
Senior Level Coworker: Yeah.
Me: Since when did I become a messenger? Are you sure that I am supposed to be doing that?
Senior Level Coworker: Well, I need it done and there is no one else who can do it. I would bring it with me over the weekend but, I am not going straight home tonight so...
Me: No, I understand, it's cool I guess, I've just never been asked to do something like that, I am not sure if it's in my job description... but I don't really care I guess...
Senior Level Coworker: Yeah, well, it needs to get to the shoot, so...
Me: Yeah. ok. I understand...no problem...
Monday
HR Woman: Hey, I'd love to talk to you when I get out of this meeting.
Me: Okay. Just come get me.
HR Woman: Okay I am ready.
Me: Okay.
HR Person: So, do you know why I brought you in here?
Me: Umm, Kind of.
HR Person: You know, a lot of the Art Directors around here have been complaining about your attitude. In fact, most of them have come up to me at one point or another and said something.
Me: Uh-huh.
HR Person: And so, do you want me to repeat that conversation that you had on Friday?
Me: No. It was a misunderstanding. I just didn't know if it was okay, cause she's not really my supervisor or anything, so what I really meant to be asking was whether she had checked with my supervisor, but it came out wrong. I didn't mean it. I was kind of kidding around with her...
HR Person: Well, I guess I understand that, but you know, This company really thrives on teamwork and we've only gotten this far through a cooperative effort with all of our employees. So nothing should ever be beneath anyone on the team. We all help each other out.
Me: Yes, I know and I understand. I apologize. I will try to have a more positive attitude from now on.
HR Person: Well, thank you for your apology, and I want you to think about your happiness here.
Me: I will. Okay.
