Example:
When I was much older than I would have thought such a thing could happen to me, I fell in love. The power of this emotion was strong, and so complex that I knew, almost immediately, that my life would be changed forever: that there was no going back. She had feelings for me, too, but in this case that made things even more complicated. It was strange, also, knowing that the rest of the world was not in synch with any of this, and that other people's lives would simply go on as if nothing was different. But most important of all, I learned how to let go -- not of my love, but of myself.
