A collie sheepdog. She died of breast cancer.
A brown lurcher with a stripy coat. I liked her.
A grey lurcher. She was Rita's sister and belonged to my granny. She was grumpy when she got older, I heard my mother say she had Alzheimer's.
A tabby cat. My first pet. She was named after the character in 'The Aristocats'.
Duchess's brother. He belonged to my brother and was black and very friendly. One of the best cats I have known. He and Duchess died of that blood disease some people call cat AIDS.
A tabby cat. She belonged to my granny and had a saggy stomach that almost dragged on the ground.
My best friend's cat. She was a rescue cat and liked sucking my clothes because she had been taken away from her mother too soon. I felt sorry for her.
A collie sheepdog. She was very pretty and excitable. My parents sold her, I'm not sure why.
A grey wolfhound. He was gentle and kind and smelt bad.
A long haired tortishell from a farm. My next cat after Duchess. She always looks cross but is kind to those who treat her gently. She is 18 now.
A pale ginger cat. She was desperate for attention and her tail curled.
Tallulah's kitten. Because Tallulah is very small she only had one kitten, but he was very large. When Tallulah was ready to give birth she came and woke me up in the middle of the night.
My uncle's dog when he lived in Italy. She was very shy but would sometimes sleep on my bed when I stayed there for a couple of months after my first boyfriend made me feel sad.
A tan dog. He belonged to my uncle's girlfriend. He was happy and smiled.
A black standard poodle. She used to belong to my granny but when she died Mimi went to live with my uncle. He loved her very much and brought her glittery collars and took her to parties.
A collie sheepdog. She belongs to my mother and is the kindest dog I have ever known. If people talk about her she gets embarrassed and leaves the room.
A border terrier. He belonged to my brother and made squeaking noises when he wanted attention.
Another collie sheepdog. She is very small and has eyes that are half blue and half brown, it reminds me of David Bowie. She gets confused and doesn't know how to play with other dogs.
