First, I want all of my usable body parts donated, either to live patients or for science. Then, cremate my body and scatter my ashes off the end of the sidewalk at the Elfin Forrest in Los Osos, on a day when the wind will carry the ashes through the forest and into the esturary, and eventually out to sea. I'll be long gone by then, but it's comforting to think that my ashes will find such a beautiful resting place. Don't keep any - I don't like the idea of my ashes sitting on someone's mantel. After my daughter takes everything of mine that is going to her, let my friends/family choose items they want, that remind them of great memories we had together. As far as a wake/funeral, I want lots of music, food, and sharing of fond memories, with my church choir starting the funeral with "Taste and See", my favorite hymn. And there should be lots of pictures, of my family and friends, of special times we had together.
