Culturally the depth of my experience was country and top-40 music, paintings on saw blades and dead animal skulls, high school sports and 100 ways to cook beef.
--Excerpt from Paul Arensmeyer's life story

I can identify with Paul's childhood experience of sort of fitting into all the different groups of kids growing up, but not really fitting very well with any of them. And having a healthy sense of humor as well which makes it all bearable somehow, or maybe it is a necessary skill to get through school as a misfit. On a recent drive thru Eureka, CA my wife forgot her coat in a motel. We had to make a few phone calls to get someone there to mail it back to us once we got home. They didn't want to send it until we paid for the shipping, but had no idea how much it would cost. Eventually I gained their trust, and it was sent very neatly packed in this cut up box of detergent.
