Dad: He's fine. I poured some water on him today, he really liked that.
Me: What?! You poured water on him?
Dad: Yeah.. yes.. just, you know, some water. So when do you think you can come and visit next?
Me: Dad, why'd you pour water on the cat?
Dad: Oh, well, he likes it.
Me: You know cats clean themselves, you don't need to do that.
Dad: Yes, well, anyways, make sure you come with someone who can share the driving.
Me: Dad, you're obviously not listening to me! Why did you pour water on him?
Dad: Um....
Me: Never mind. I can't believe you did that! Dad!
Dad: Um...
Me: I've gotta go.
Dad: Um.... bye!
