(two oclock in the morning; phone call from brother; wife hangs up) husband: so when?
(groggy) wife: when what?
Husband: when is he coming to drop Rachel off?
Wife: late tomorrow night. Why?
Husband: because I am not going to be around when they get here.
Wife: oh. Come on.
Husband: I am not going to have them come around just so they can laugh at me.
Wife: god if you are going to be like this go sleep in the other fucking room.
Husband: fine. (gathers up things).
Wife: And anyways ... (he leaves; she gets up and follows him into the living room)
Husband: why are you in here?
Wife: I wasn't done talking. You won't have the chance again to argue with me like this.
Husband: well you are the one kicking me out.
Wife: well you are the one who said that he "wants to want me." Which implies that you do not.
Husband: you're taking things out of context. That is not what that means.
Wife: well lets see. "I want to want marshmallows." Which implies I do not have marshmallows right now.
Husband: no see. "I want to want air." I've got air so my earlier statement doesn't mean what you think it means.
Wife: so tell me what it means.
Husband: you don't care, you don't understand.
Wife: Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. You don't want me, you don't love me, you don't make any money, we don't have sex, you don't do anything around the house.
Husband: I take care of YOUR kids.
Wife: that is not a 50% chore. It is easy to take care of them.
Husband: well they are yours.
