Stop thinking about it.
a- forget about quitting, or being a quitting quitter. the feelings and arguments that go through one's head about it can only understood years after the fact, so don't try to understand now. just remember that at this point it's a stupid argument not worth dwelling on.
b- when you find yourself wanting a ciggarette, forcibly think about something else. commit to this for 5 minutes. if you do this, you will probably forget about a smoke for a while. the intervals between "smoke breaks" will become longer and longer.
If you really want to stop sooner, everytime you want a smoke, think of something that makes you sad. then think about the fact that you are likely not to blame, nor is anyone else. it seems to me that when we realize we are all blameless, our obsessions and cravings become much more manageable.
Basically, if it (whatever it is) doesn't feel good, if you don't enjoy it, if it doesn't MAKE YOU HAPPY (what is happy anyways?) then don't do it.
Believe in yourself.
Then do what makes you happy.
This may sound simple.
Thankfully, it is.
