Me: Hello?

*John Doe: Yo.

Me: ...

*John Doe: What's up, it's John. I thought I'd call you for a change.

Me: That's nice.

(awkward silence)

*John Doe: You were right, and I'm sorry I didn't come to my senses earlier after we had that talk.

Me: Well, it's kind of over and done at this point. Why now?

*John Doe: I'm not happy with where we are right now and I want you to know that you're not in this by yourself. I just hope you know how important you are to me.

Me: Bullshit. You've had more chances than I can count to get your words together and tell me how you felt. I've given you ample opportunities, and you've emotionally worn me down to the point where I don't even know if I want *anyone* right now. It's not fair that I feel like you're using me, and that I feel this isn't a mutual friendship. You used to be way cooler to me, but now, even with you saying this, I think I deserve more, and I think I deserve someone who's more confident in what they want.

*John Doe: I'm sorry that you felt that way. I just didn't know how to deal with what I was feeling, and I didn't know what to expect out of all this.

Me: I wish you knew how much you could've had if you were smarter about this. You made me feel like I was wrong for feeling the way that I did, and this entire conversation we're having is a slap in the face. I forgive you, though.

*John Doe: Can you come over?

Me: I'm on my way.
