Two Kids Finish Their Homework Early
June 13th, 2007-Suburban Seattle, WA
Two children living in this quaint home in a suburban cul-de-sac finished their homework early this afternoon.
Tomas and Sarah (not their real names) announced that they would like more time to play after school. "If you'd like to enjoy the weather while the sun is still up, you must complete your homework," their mother responded.
Tomas and Sarah immediately got out their pencils and got down to work. "We need a snack for some energy," reported the children. While eating their crackers, the children sat and worked on math and spelling problems.
A neighbor reported hearing from the open window in the kitchen: "This is the most focused you have been all week." The neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the children were "good kids" who normally did not create a "ruckus."
After the school assignments were completed, the children enjoyed riding their bikes and playing "Red Rover" with the other kids who live nearby.
